Breaking news, not much to say yet, and sadly, I didn't even see this race, but David Rudisha has delivered on his exceptional promise and broken the 800m world record in Berlin today!
His time of 1:41.09 took the narrowest 0.02s margin off legend Wilson Kipketer's previous best, set back in 1997.

Chris Solinsky just ran sub-13 for 5000 meters for the third time this season!! Having never run under 13 minutes before June, Solinsky is showing consistency and some fierce competitiveness that we haven't seen from an American other than Bernard Lagat for quite some time. Finishing third in the final Diamond League race at Zurich, Solinsky left us with a lot to look forward to in 2011!
In this interview Chris talks about two moments that became career changes for him. One being a severe low from the 2008 Olympic Trials and the other being a huge high as he broke the American Record for 10,000 meters with an impressive 26:59. Thanks for the exictement and buzz you've created this season Chris, its been a great ride.

This week it was announced that the Olympic Marathon champion, Sammy Wanjiru, will run this year's edition of the Chicago Marathon. I, for one, am very happy that Sammy has chosen to come back and defend his title. His presence in the race will certainly push us all along to run faster than we otherwise could. I believe that running with others who have experienced their own breakthrough helps me to enter into a breakthrough of my own. by Ryan Hall
